wifi not working on Broadcom BCM43602

Thanks for the heads-up! There was another broadcom chip that wasn't working, tracked in #5. There are certainly ways of getting it working -- see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Broadcom_wireless -- but in the meantime, do you see anything when you try lsmod | grep wl? I built in Broadcom drivers, but I have a feeling there might be some hiccups in there somewhere.

Also, I'm glad dh-usb is working for you otherwise! Booting, at least.

success! i eventually stumbled across this re ubuntu: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/bcm43xx

so tried this:

$ lspci -vvnn | grep -A 9 Network

saw that I had kernal modules: brcmfmac, wl, but none in use. So tried this:

$ sudo modprobe brcmfmac

and ran the first command again; kernal now in use!

$ sudo wifi-menu

...and connected. Kept getting connection errors; went to settings > network and connected through there, ta da!

So the Arch Wiki (Arch is the distro on which DH-USB is based) tells me that to load kernel modules on every boot, you can add a line to /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf, with the module name. That should do the same thing as running modprobe manually from the command-line.

@JonathanReeve apologies I ended up on here after hours of searching. ubuntu 18.04 was slightly different and it actually had a lib blacklisted due to instability which is why it wouldnt start up.

Thanks a lot for your help regardless. I may try running your platform and getting the wifi to work to help confirm it fixes the problem
