Cannot Connect With Local Peers

1. Installed Patchbay 8.1.0 on my desktop (mac 12.1).
2. Local Peer on the same wifi installed Manyverse (0.2112.3) on their android (9) phone.
3. I can see them as Local Peer. Then can see me as a Local Peer.
4. We both Followed each other. We don't see any of the other person's posts etc.
5. We cannot see each others Avatars, they look blank to both of us.
6. They Connected with me. I could not connect with them. No difference.
7. There is no Connect button in Patchbay, so I went back to the Initial Sync screen.
8. On the Initial Sync screen, clicking the Connect button does nothing.
9. In Patchbay I am Following them, and in Manyverse they are following me.
10. I see none of their Public Posts. They see none of my Public Posts.
11. I try to send them a Private Message, but they are not on my list when I type @, I am the only Peer listed.
12. I can send a message to myself, that works.
13. On Manyverse, they went to Connections > Open Connections Panel >
14. They see me (sometimes I pop in and out), one Local Peer and my ID, they click on that > Open Profile
15. They see my profile: no avatar, I have 1 follower, that's them.
16. It says I am following 0 people, but it should say 1, because I am following them.
17. When I view their profile it says they have 1 follower, that's me, but they are following 0 people.
18. "you follow them" it says in Patchbay, and on the Initial Sync screen it says "Following" when I click on their ID.
19. On Manyverse, they clicked on the three ... dots in the top right corner > Open Private Conversation.
20. They sent me a message. And a number of more messages later as we tried to solve the problem.
21. No messages received. They can see the messages they sent to me in the Conversation.
22. We tried restarting the apps. We tried unfollowing and following again.
23. They tried unconnecting. Connecting. We tried restarting apps many times.
24. We cannot properly connect with each other.
25. We can see each other as Local Peers, we can Follow, but nothing happens.

25. Installed Patchwork (3.18.1) on desktop (mac 12.1)
26. I can see the Local Peer (on Manyverse) under "Possible connections" in the sidebar.
27. Hovered over their ID to see popup. I can see their full ID, Avatar missing "this person does not follow anyone that follows you".
28. I follow them. Confirmed. Now they are intermittently appearing in the left column.
29. Their ID is constantly appearing, then disappearing in the left column. No Avatar. No name.
30. They cannot see my Patchwork ID in Local Peers. Maybe because I have Patchbay open. Closed Patchbay.
31. Now they can see me. They follow me. Now they can see my Avatar and name.
32. They are no longer 'flashing' in the left column. Now I can see their Avatar. Now I can see their name.
33. They can now see my Public Posts.
34. I see a message at the top of my Public feed "there are 6 updates", I click on it. I can now see their Public Posts.
35. I got a notification in Mentions, says my Local Peer has followed me.
36. I test sending a private message. They received it. They replied. I received the reply.
37. All seems to be working between Patchwork and Manyverse.
