terminus font not showing in DM software

I installed terminus-font:

# scratch search terminus
[*] (main) terminus-font 4.49.1-2: Monospace bitmap font (for X11 and console)

the font wont show then in the gui software. I have tried to use it in libreoffice to no avail, and tried to set the xfce settings fonts to terminus but it is not there either.

my system:
