4 Kasa Local Application

Overview:

This wiki describes the manual and automated operation of the Kasa Local Integration Application. It has the following section:

• The application main page
• Device Installation
• List Devices (and update IPs)

Application Main Page

The figure below is a view of the application Main Page. It includes the following controls and functions.

• "<App List": Returns the the Hubitat Application Page.
• Gear Symbol: Opens the applications settings page.
• "?": Links to the applications help page (this page).
• "Install Kasa Devices": Polls for Kasa Devices and goes to the installation selection page.
• "List Kasa Devices": Polls for Kasa Devices and goes to the device list page. While obtaining data, updates the IP address for child devices.
• "Enable Application Debug Logging for 30 minutes"
• "Remove": Removes all child devices then removes the application.
• "Done": Exits the application.

Device Installation

1. On the main page, select Install Kasa Devices.
2. It will take a minute or so for the next page to install. During this time, your log will have a LOT of the following message: "Error occured with UDP message: SocketTimeoutException: Receive timed out". THIS IS NORMAL.
3. The Add Kasa Devices to Hubitat page has a drop down (see below). Select the drop down and select the devices you want to install. Then press Done.
4. Open each installed devices' page and set any preferences.

List Devices

On the main page, select List Kasa Devices. It will take a minute or so for the next page to install. During this time, your log will have a LOT of the following message: "Error occured with UDP message: SocketTimeoutException: Receive timed out". THIS IS NORMAL.
